| Tools for fighting the AMP |
|
| Get started early gathering public support for opposition to the proposed consolidation. Everything matters; but public support matters most of all. | Public Support |
| Personally meet with the Mayor and Board of Supervisors and with your Senator and Representative. Be proffessional and respectful. Don't demonize the Postal Service in these meetings, but be factual. Ask for their support; hint at an official resolution of support; ask for a representative to be present at the public meeting. | State, Federal, and Local Officials |
| Use your knowledge of the actual "rubber meets the road" experiences in customer service to your advantage. Nobody knows what customer service is better than the people actually doing the work. | Base arguments on your experience. |
| Use the Postal Service AMP page. Go
there, download the summaries of other offices and study them to get an
idea of what kinds of arguments are effective. Also use the manual PO-408. It's available on Blue. |
Use publicly available sources. |
